Once again, it's time to dig into the national archives for another candids post. This one consists of basketball kicks I've shot taken over the past few years (using my iPhone 4, and now 6). Since most of these are from random encounters, I don't always have a lot of background. Hope you enjoy!

During the Summer of 2011, I was eating lunch at the Macaroni Grill in Chicago O'Hare Airport (ORD) when I noticed this dude wearing some sweet blue bball kicks. After some hesitation and pre-planning my words, I decided to pay my bill at the bar (and get a better look). I complimented and asked him about his shoes which later turned into a small conversation about sneakers. After hearing that he was a Jordan guy (as a lot of city guys are), I went straight in and threw out an offer. He said "sure" and gave me a business card. For whatever reason, I didn't follow through with hitting him up but I didn't manage to walk away with a few visual keepsakes:)
You might recognize these from an earlier post about Ryan, old neighbor. Since they are basketball related, I decided to add them anyways. The Ryan post is located here:

Again, more photos from a previous post about "Brett," however this dude and his shoes are worth a rerun. If you forgot, he's wearing AND1 Rocket 2.0's. The original post is located here:

This is a guy I noticed wearing AND1 Rocket 2.0's while waiting for his carry-out from a local Mexican joint couple years back. It's no coincidence that these photos come after Brett as this dude is wearing the same shoes.
This college kid was waiting next to me at the Goleta Starbuck's near UCSB. Unfortunately, he was with a date so I didn't bug him; but I would've been happy to get my feet into those well broken-in Nike's. They were a good looking young college couple--I would've been equally happy to be a fly on the wall of their bedroom;)
This dude goes to my gym and has a pair of the classic Jordan IX's. After seeing him wearing these a few times, I seized the opportunity to stop and compliment them. Under the cover of 'being an avid Jordan collector,' I offered good money to either buy or replace them with whatever he wanted. He was cool and receptive, but hesitant. I bribed him on a few different occasions but in the end, he didn't want to give them up. These would've been a sweet score as he balled in them for years.

Basketball season is one of my favorite times to workout in the gym. There are always ballers hanging out waiting to play in their team's game or watching someone else's. This guy was wearing blue Adidas Crazy Quick's (don't know which version though) and had some serious football legs:)
Same gym, just a couple blurry shots of someone running in the black version of the White Nike shoes in the next post. He either wore low-cut socks or just ran sockless:) This was pre-iPhone 6; which would've taken a great video.
Nothing special about these generic white Nikes, just a clean-looking shoe...especially on the feet of a young athlete:) Taken a couple years ago in the base 'dining facility,' aka. chow hall.
Starting my road trip out to Texas in the Summer of 2013 (almost 2 years ago exactly), I stopped in the Goleta Starbucks get some caffeine for the road. This young teenager was in front of me wearing some kind of Nike Hyper's (I don't remember which ones, but it was a step down from either the -dunks' or -fuses'). He seemed like someone was waiting for him and he ran out in a hurry; but not before I got some small talk about his shoes and this picture:)

Two Security Forces (trainee) Airmen walking back to their dorms on base. If they weren't engaged in talk, I would've definitely stopped the kid wearing the white/black AND1 Rockets. Notice my shadow in the bottom-left; trying to play it cool like I was texting:')
Waiting in line behind these jocks at Chipotle. I don't know what kind of Nikes they (in front of me) were, but he was wearing them sockless.
Hooping it at the base gym, I caught these Adidas Rose 3.0's on the feet of a young teenager. This was a shoe a I was thinking about getting at the time so they really stuck out.

Not the best captures, but some people like foams...
A dude in his late teens/early 20's shopping at a local San Antonio grocery store. Maybe I've been influenced by all the Dodgers fans in LA, but blue contrasts well on Hispanics.

Another young couple shopping at a local grocery store back in Cali. They were walking through the beer isle like they were on a mission so it was hard to get good pix of those sweet AF1s. They probably were in a hurry to get home to fuck for the 10th time of the day;)
Same store, different day... Wearing some kind of Nike's, I think?
When I was waiting at the barber shop, the teenage son of a guy I worked with walked in. Judging by his clothes and physique, he seemed like a baller. I don't remember what kind of Nike's these are, but this kid had official NBA everything to match.
Last year, I was in the Phoenix Airport (PHX) coming home from a week in the Cayman Islands when I noticed this teenager wearing some J's. They aren't anything special, but when you're young, fit, and trim, everything looks good on you:) I'm sure his white girlfriends agree.
While waiting to go through security at Six Flags Magic Mountain, I noticed this dude wearing a huge pair of white AF1s. I was truly bummed that both him and I were with friends:( Plus, I think that was his gf, who has a nice booty, standing next to him--I bet she enjoys his 'big feet.';)

This was taken walking through downtown Santa Barbara during the Spring of 2011. I was trying to get a good shot of those Jodan's worn by a dude in his mid-20's walking his dog. Those are my Puma Speedcat's in the lower right of the shot.

Some low-end J's I'm guessing...and if they weren't being worn by this young college buck, I wouldn't have even captured this . Taken in front of the Goleta Home Depot 2011-12.
Walking into my bank a couple years back, I came across this teenager (sitting down) wearing black/red (pinstripe) Converse Wade's . Of course, I struck up a conversation and asked if he was getting rid of them anytime soon (they came out in 2008). As it turns out, these were his favorite kicks and he went on to tell me this long story of what it took to get them. I didn't press him very hard as I already had a pair.

During the Summer of 2013, I travelled to an Air Force Base in Texas to attend a (TDY) military class. I will keep the descriptions brief but to give you some general background, the next several photos were taking in that period.

These blue/black Air Jordan 1's /AJ1's caught my attention while walking through downtown Santa Barbara.
